Togo Confirms First Coronavirus Case

Togo on Friday confirmed its first case of Coronavirus after a 42-year-old woman tested positive following her return from a trip to Benin, France, Germany and Turkey.

The patient, who lives in the capital, Lome, with her family visited Benin, Germany, France and Turkey before returning to Togo via the land border with Benin

She is currently isolated in a treatment centre for infectious diseases after testing positive on Thursday, according to the AFP.

It said all people, who had contact with the patient in the country have been identified and quarantined

According to Virus Tracker, as of Friday, March 6, 2020, there were at least 42 cases of Coronavirus reported in 9 African countries, 17 cases in Algeria, 15 in Egypt, four in Senegal, two cases in Morocco, one each in Nigeria, South Africa,  Tunisia, Cameroom and Togo.
