WHO’s warning to Nigeria about Coronavirus

As the deadly bug (conoravirus) craws faster into African nations, the World Health Organization on Friday sent a serious warning to Nigeria to act fast to stop the spread of the virus now that the cases are still very few or it may be too late.

WHO’s Director General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom said Nigeria should seize the opportunity now that it has few cases to stop the virus from spreading by conducting enough testìng, identifying those who test positive, isolate them and follow up contact’s tracing.

He said those early measures would go far in preventing the virus from growing from sporadic cases to community transmission, because problem comes when community transmission starts, and when that happens, it becomes difficult to quarantine many people.
