Popular Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba has been appointed as an ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees announced this on Tuesday via its verified Instagram handle.
“We are so excited to share the news that @official2baba has been appointed @refugees Goodwill Ambassador!
“2Baba, your steadfast commitment for refugees and internally displaced people is remarkable and we are excited to continue this journey with you! Thank you for uplifting the narrative of the Africa refugee and IDP,” the agency wrote.
On its Twitter handle, the agency again acknowledged the singer’s commitment to displaced people, stating how he wrote and recorded a song to raise funds for them.
“He met displaced people’s families to hear their stories. He wrote & recorded a song to raise funds for refugees,” It tweeted.
