Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday announced that worship centres in the state will be opened from Friday, August 7.
Disclosing this during a briefing on COVID-19 on Saturday, Sanwo-Olu said, “Places of worship in Lagos will now be opened from Friday, the 7th of August for our Muslim worshippers, and on Sunday, the 9th of August for our Christian worshippers.”
The governor added that handshakes, hugs and high-five are not permitted during gathering.
“It is mandatory to provide handwashing facilities and hand sanitisers at the various worship places. Handshakes, hugs, high-fives are not permitted during gatherings and should be emphasised and displayed at the various places of worship.”
Worship centres had been shut in the state since March as part of measures to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus disease.
