Czechia’s richest man, Petr Kellner was killed on Saturday in a helicopter crash in Alaska.
His PPF group business confirmed in a statement on Saturday that Kellner was among the five people who died in the crash.
“With great sadness, PPF announces that … Petr Kellner tragically passed away in a helicopter accident in the Alaskan mountains,” the company said. “His professional life was known for his incredible work ethic and creativity, but his private life belonged to his family,” it added.
The helicopter crashed in the Alaskan wilderness on Saturday during a backcountry heli-skiing trip killing four of it’s passengers and the pilot.
The sixth person was in serious but stable condition and being treated at a hospital in the Anchorage area, according to media reports.
Kellner was the richest person in the Czech Republic, founder and majority shareholder (98.93 %) of the PPF Group.
He is survived by his wife and four children.
